THE National Railway Museum in York is launching a new fun exhibition to encourage children to discover their “hidden engineer” and find out how they can shape the railways of tomorrow.
Future Engineers will allow youngsters to take part in a series of interactive activities offering the opportunity to experience first-hand some of the real-life challenges faced by rail engineers.
Taking place over the upcoming October half-term holiday, it will include ‘live’ engineering demonstrations and the chance for youngsters to take part in a group challenge in association with engineering group Atkins.
There will also be the opportunity to meet with engineers working on Britain’s biggest rail projects, such as Crossrail and HS2, and to discover more about a future career in engineering. Future Engineers runs from this Saturday, October 22, until Sunday, October 30.
