BIKE safety schemes have been approved for two places in York, with a plea that cyclists take care during the winter months.
Cllr Ian Gillies, the transport boss at City of York Council, has given the go ahead for alterations on Holgate Road, and at the Monkgate roundabout.
At the public decision session Cllr Gillies urged people on bikes to be careful as the bad weather and dark evenings approach.
The Monkgate scheme will see the three lanes on Huntington Road cut down to two on the approach to the roundabout, and a short stretch of off-road shared cycle and footpath. The Holgate plan will provide extra parking for businesses.
