STUDENTS at York St John University are joining York libraries’ Big City Read project by studying Pat Barker’s novel Regeneration.
Organisers of the Big City Read say they want readers in communities across York to come together to share their experiences by reading the same book.
Some 5,000 free copies of the book are being given out at York libraries in October and November, and students will now join in by studying the First World War novel.
York St John’s Dr Fraser Mann said: “We are delighted to be taking part in The Big City Read this year and to be working closely with the team at York Explore. Studying and researching Pat Barker’s Regeneration will be an engaging and stimulating experience for our first year English Literature and Creative Writing students”
Dr Mann will be interviewing Pat Barker at the final Big City Read event on Sunday, November 27. Tickets booked at any library or by phone on 01904 552828 or 552651.
