A HORSE had to be rescued by fire fighters when it became trapped in a water-filled ditch.
Humberside Fire and Rescue Service were called to the land in Beswick, near Driffield, on Sunday afternoon.
The animal was rescued by two fire fighters by entering the ditch in water rescue gear and attaching strops, hose and general purpose lines around the horse to lift it free using a farm tractor.
The horse was left in the care of its owners and a vet who checked it over for injuries.
