Volunteers needed for Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal
VOLUNTEERS are needed to help with the Royal British Legion’s annual Poppy Appeal.
The charity has launched its Poppy People campaign, to call for help to raise money and support current and former armed forces personnel and their families.
Stewart Lythe, community fundraiser for York, said: “The Legion’s Poppy Appeal takes place over a two-week period leading up to Remembrance Sunday, which this year falls on November 13.
“The Appeal is The Royal British Legion’s main fundraising event of the year. The charity relies heavily on its volunteer collectors who are out and about, rain or shine, in communities across the country.”
