A PENSIONER was left needing hospital treatment when two men attacked him at his front door.
The 79-year-old, from Leven Road, Stokesley, suffered eye injuries when the men knocked on his door and assaulted him between 9am and 10am yesterday, running off towards Westlands.
Detective Sergeant Chris Parker-Beagrie, of Northallerton Serious Crime Team, said: “This was a cowardly assault on an elderly man.
"We appreciate that local people may be concerned about that someone is targeting elderly residents, however, we believe that the attack was isolated and that the wider community are not at risk.
"Our priority is find the people responsible and I am appealing to anyone in the area who can assist our investigation to please get in touch as soon as possible."
