THE Lord Mayor and civic party are to visit the Wilberforce Trust in York to learn about the work it does for people with sight loss.
The visit on October 5 will mark National Eye Health Week and World Sight Day Over 10,000 people in York are affected with deteriorating sight.
The Wilberforce Trust helps people with practical solutions to these problems and other issues connected with sight loss Philippa Crowther, of the Wilberforce Trust, said: “This is a great way to raise awareness of some of the problems faced by people with sight loss. We are delighted the Civic Party are taking time out of their hectic schedule to learn more about the very important work we do every day.”
World Sight day is an annual day to raise awareness of blindness and vision impairment.
