A MOTORIST was taken to hospital after a crash between a car and a stationary van in East Yorkshire.
The collision, involving a blue Peugeot 207 and a Mercedes Sprinter van, happened in Selby Road, Holme-on-Spalding Moor, at about 10.30pm last night.
The driver of the Peugeot, an 82-year-old man, was trapped in the car following the collision.
Firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment and a reciprocating saw to free the man, who is from Holme-on-Spalding Moor. He was taken to York Hospital by ambulance for treatment.
A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: "The extent of his injuries are not known but are not thought to be life-threatening."
