ST LEONARD’S Hospice in York was the big beneficiary of the charity music SpeedQuiz hosted by indie rock star Rick Witter.

The event – a pub quiz using the SpeedQuizzing system whereby tablets are used to input answers, rather than pens and paper – was held at a packed Crescent Club, with teams paying £15 to enter. Shed Seven frontman Mr Witter was the quiz master.

The winners, called Bilbrough Toploader, chose where the £200 prize money would be donated, and opted for St Leonard’s.

Mike Elgie, pictured left, from the winning team, has now been along to the Tadcaster Road hospice to hand over the winnings to St Leonard's fundraiser Sarah Atkinson.
