AN investigation has been launched after a man was allegedly assaulted in York at the weekend.
It happened in Lawrence Street, at 2.30pm on Sunday and involved a man in his late fifties, about 5’8″ tall, wearing a blue jacket and jeans assaulting another man by hitting him over the head several times.
Police are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
