A STATIONERY store which focuses on being fun and colourful has opened in the centre of York and created eight new jobs.
Australian retailer Smiggle said it had launched in Coney Street just in time for the period when youngsters were going back to school.
The Smiggle brand arrived in the UK in February 2014 and this is its 68th UK store.
The Press reported in March that the stationer was coming to what had previously been a Greggs outlet.
Smiggle said it was dedicated to creating original, fun and affordable stationery “and is the place to be for essentials to start the school year in style”.
Managing director John Cheston said they were thrilled to have opened the York store. “It’s important for us to inject fun into everything we do – from product design to store design, we will always focus on delivering to our fans the most original and playful stationery possible,” he said.
