A DRIVER was taken to hospital after a lorry carrying more than 20 tonnes of meat overturned on a main road near York.
The crash happened on the A19 between the Stillingfleet turn off and Riccall at about 5.20pm on Bank Holiday Monday.
The 57-year-old male driver of the lorry was taken to York Hospital by road ambulance. North Yorkshire Police and Yorkshire Ambulance Service were unable to give any details about the injuries the man suffered.
The road was closed to allow the vehicle to be recovered and the road to be cleared.

As well as a road ambulance, an air ambulance and a rapid response vehicle were sent to the scene. Police also attended the crash.
