POLICE seized two different cars this week, which were allegedly being driven by the same woman without a full driving licence or valid insurance.

Police say the woman, 44, was stopped first by police on Wednesday in a village near Selby driving a black Peugeot 207.

Police say that on Thursday, they stopped the same woman again, when she was driving a blue Vauxhall VX.

Police say the woman did not have a full driving licence or valid insurance for either vehicle. The woman says she lives in York.

The woman disputes this, and also says both stoppages were on the same day, not consecutive days.

Sergeant Paul Cording, of North Yorkshire Police, said: "This driver has shown a complete disregard towards the law and road safety by driving without a licence and insurance on two occasions on consecutive days in different vehicles.

"The same officer has now seized two vehicles from this driver and a file has been submitted to the Crown Prosecution Service in order she can be dealt with via the judicial system.

York Press:

"That people think it's okay to drive without a licence and insurance is simply not acceptable and we will continue to target those who do in an effort to improve road safety."
