THREE colleagues are taking on the challenge of the Yorkshire Three Peaks this weekend in aid of St Catherine’s Hospice.

Nicola Ward, Gillian Allanson and Sue O’ Vastar from Kirkbymoorside Surgery will be striding out on the 26-mile route, from Horton-in-Ribblesdale and conquering Pen-y-Ghent (691m), Whernside (728m), and Ingleborough (723m).

Gillian said: “Last year my friend’s three-year-old son was diagnosed with a rare cancer. Following six months of chemotherapy, Joseph is thankfully now in remission. I decided to fundraise for a cancer charity to express my gratitude for the care he received

“I wasn’t brave enough to embark on this huge challenge on my own, so I was delighted when my two amazing colleagues agreed to also take on the challenge with me. We chose St Catherine’s Hospice as it is our local charity, offering help and support to people with life-limiting illnesses.”
