THE owner of a York takeaway said there was no way a plaster was found in one of his meals.
Last week, The Press reported care home worker Jodie Wilkinson claimed to have found a sticking plaster in a doner wrap bought from Acomb Kebab House.
Cihan Aktas, owner of the takeaway, said he dealt with the incident when it was first reported, providing Ms Wilkinson with a refund for her meal, but he was adamant the item found was not a plaster.
He said: "I would like to state that we only use blue detectable plaster to avoid such problems.
"Me and my family have managed kebab shops in York since 1999 and we pride ourselves of excellent cleaning standards, having always obtained 5 stars hygiene ratings."
Mr Aktas' colleague told The Press last week the item found was "a piece of fat".
