VISITORS to Tockwith Show next month will be able to eat local – with preserves, vegetables, pies, pickles and cakes all coming from within just a few miles of the showfield.
Catering in the members’ tent will be provided by Ainsty Farm Shop, while Daleside brewery will run the bar, meaning very low ‘food miles,’ said show chairman Sam Blacker.
He said: “Yorkshire is blessed with some fantastic food and drink suppliers and we wanted to offer our visitors a chance to sample as many of them as possible on show day.”
“We’ve kept our focus very local, minimising food miles and also giving people a chance to learn more about the great businesses in our area.” The show takes place on the Show Field in Cattal Moor Lane, Tockwith, on Sunday, August 7. Advance tickets are on sale until Sunday, July 31 at £8, saving £1. Children go free. Visit www.tockwithshow.org.uk
