A WOMAN has pleased guilty to causing the death of a motorcyclist.
John Stang was riding on October 8 last year on Toulston Lane, in Tadcaster, when he was involved in a crash with a red Vauxhall Astra, driven by Kathryn Jenkinson, 45.
Jenkinson of Heather Knowle, Dodworth, Barnsley, admitted causing death by careless driving at York Magistrates Court on Friday. She will be sentenced on July 21.
Mr Stang died at the scene at 5.20pm, after travelling along Toulston Lane on his Triumph motorbike with a friend who was on another bike.
Around 15 members of his family were in court and were invited to return to the sentencing to give victim impact statements to the court.
Jenkinson, who was arrested at the scene, was disqualified from driving by district judge Adrian Lower. The length of the ban will be set at the next hearing. The judge told Jenkinson her early guilty plea had saved Mr Stang's family further anguish by not taking the case to trial.
