I HAVE driven past Clifton Moor so many times wishing I could buy a new bed or find a supermarket so I could do some shopping without ever realising there were these shops available just over the hedge.
Naturally I was so intent on looking at the road I could not see through the trunks of trees set several yards apart.
If you think there is a hint of sarcasm there, you are correct.
Everybody who wants to shop at Clifton Moor (including me) knows it exists, there are large billboards advertising the shops too.
As to S Keane’s comment that “no other sites around Yorkshire had trees blocking the view of our shops” (Letters, June 25). Well, I’d say even if this is true that sets Clifton Moor above the rest for having something more than a concrete soulless shopping monstrosity.
Trim the hedge but keep the trees.
