A MOTORIST from Selby was caught speeding at 110mph on the A64.
North Yorkshire Police said a red Audi A3 S-Line was stopped near Crockey Hill at about 6.10am on Friday after passing an unmarked police car "at excessive speed".
In a tweet that morning, a spokesman said the driver told officers "he wanted to get home quickly to see his dog".
A 34-old-man from Selby was served with a summons to court.
