A WOMAN'S body has been found in a park in York.
Police have cordoned off an area of St Nicholas Fields, following the discovery at about 8pm on Monday.
Police have been searching in recent days for Colleen Jarvis, 55, pictured below, who has been missing from her home in Burlington Avenue since Thursday lunchtime.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said on Monday night: "Police renewed their appeal for information earlier today and Ms Jarvis’s family urged her to get in touch.
"However, officers were called to reports of a woman’s body in a remote location in York just before 8pm tonight.
"The scene has been secured and although a formal identification has yet to take place, Ms Jarvis’s family has been informed.
"Investigations are currently taking place but police do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death."
