THIS stunning new video has been launched to encourage visitors to plan their 'original city adventure' in York and North Yorkshire.

The film features spectacular views of landmarks across the city and countryside, many shot from the air, including the River Ouse, Minster, Clifford's Tower, City Walls, National Railway Museum, Castle Museum, Theatre Royal, Barbican, White Horse at Kilburn, North Yorkshire Moors Railway and Whitby.

The film has been produced by Visit York, part of destination management organisation Make It York, in partnership with Yorkshire based Hewitt and Walker and is supported by City of York council, North Yorkshire county council and Virgin Trains.

Visit York launched the first phase of its ‘York- the Original City Adventure’ campaign in January following the Boxing Day flooding, as part of a £1 million campaign to encourage British families and couples to spend their holidays in the North.
