A NORTH Yorkshire based food company will see their gluten free products stocked in a major supermarket.

Eight frozen products from Feel Free For Gluten Free, will be stocked up to 380 Morrisons stores around the country from Monday.

The gluten free products to be stocked by Morrisons include breaded cod fillets, sticky toffee pudding and donuts, and are suitable for coeliacs and anyone trying to avoid gluten in their diet.

Feel Free for Gluten Free is the brand name for GF Foods, based in Brackenholme Business Park near Selby, and the brainchild of former chef Sally Allister.

Sally has coeliac disease and must follow a gluten free diet herself, is managing director of the company, and spent months perfecting gluten and wheat free recipes for the products.

She said: "We believe that following a gluten free diet shouldn't mean you have to miss out on great tasting food - it's behind everything we do at Feel Free.

"Morrisons has already shown that it's committed to expanding its free from offering this year with the growth of its ambient free from aisle. These latest frozen listings reinforce that and are sure to delight free from consumers."

Different items will be more widely available and stocked in different stores, with sweet items more easily available - the sweet raspberry and almond tarts available in 128 stores, lemon meringue pies sold in 329 stores, and sticky toffee pudding sold in 380 stores.

All-butter pastry pasties will be stocked in 130 stores, as will cod fillets and Pollock nuggets, which are free from gluten, wheat, dairy, egg and soya.

The company has also had five other products, including gluten, wheat and dairy free vegetable suet and alphabet pasta shapes, made available in stores earlier this year.
