A MAN has been attacked and robbed in York.

The assault happened between 11pm and 11.30pm on Wednesday, as he walked from Thanet Road to Foxwood Lane.

Police say he was attacked from behind by more than one person.

They punched him in the head and the attackers fled with money and personal items.

The victim is not believed to have been seriously injured.
