LLOYDS Bank has revealed it is going to close its branch in Heslington, York.

Cllr Keith Aspden, the LibDem councillor for Fulford and Heslington, said the branch in Heslington, which currently opens on Tuesdays and Thursdays, will close at the end of July as part of a three-year programme of branch closures across the country.

He said he would be speaking to customers, who would have their accounts moved to the city-centre branch on Pavement and would be able to access some services at Heslington Post Office.

“I know that the bank is used by a number of local residents and some will have concerns about this news," he said.

"I will also be contacting Lloyds to see if there are any plans for the building."
