TWO hundred bikers have met in York this weekend.

The group, who are members of the Polish Bikers Yorkshire club, gathered from 11.30am today near St George's Catholic Church on Peel Street where they had a special mass, and "bike blessing" at 1.30pm before taking to the roads at 2pm for a slow road through the city.York Press:

They then headed to Acomb, with the spectacle, noise of revving engines and clouds of exhaust smoke causing passers-by to stop and stare.York Press:

The bikers gathered at the King William, Barkston Avenue, for a Polish barbecue at 3pm.

The sheer number of vehicles on the road caused traffic problems, with First buses York reporting at 3pm that they were unable to serve Chaplefields as the bikes had blocked the road outside the King William pub.York Press:
