WORK to build a new GP surgery will begin next month.
Residents in Osbaldwick, Heslington and Badger Hill will all be served by the Kimberlow Surgery, which replaces the older site in Hull Road and the University of York campus.
The changes provide better treatment rooms, parking, a reception and waiting areas.
City of York Council gave the project full planning permission in July 2015 but building work was unable to proceed without the necessary NHS approval.
This has now been granted and builders will move in next month. it is estimated work will be completed by December 2016. Louise Johnston, Unity Health managing partner, said: “The new building will allow more clinical space and this, in turn, will allow the Practice to improve patient access to a wider variety of services to contribute to their overall care.
“This will be a larger, modern, purpose built facility for all patients.”
