A KIRKBYMOORSIDE man has been arrested by police in County Durham in connection with the theft of a vehicle which had been left running while being de-iced.
The Volvo V40 was stolen early yesterday from Norton near Malton, along with another vehicle, Kia Ceed, which had also been left running to de-ice the windscreen.
North Yorkshire Police said both vehicles had now been recovered. The Kia was found abandoned in the Norton area yesterday and the Volvo was located in the County Durham area following a police pursuit yesterday afternoon, during which a police car was rammed.
A 20-year-old man from the Kirbymoorside area, who was arrested by Durham Constabulary in connection with the theft of the Volvo and on suspicion of motoring offences, has been given police bail while inquiries continue, said a force spokeswoman.
