HERE'S a bit of good news.
Gannett, The Press' US-based parent company, has given almost £8,000 in grants to local community groups in our area.
More than £7,000 has gone to Acorn Community Care in Norton to provide a walk-in cold room for the farm shop.
Lastingham Village Hall, meanwhile, has received £480 for a screen and projector so it can run lectures.
The money has come from the Gannett Foundation. And we're delighted to see it going to such deserving local causes.
