A WHILE ago readers were asking two questions on the ever so popular letters pages in The Press.

Someone wanted to know what had happened to the so disliked bendy buses (FTRs) once introduced in York.

Well, I can report they now happily operate between Bradford and Leeds and, looking at their slimline appearance, I wonder what all the fuss once was about, they seem so tiny compared to the Park&Ride giants we now operate.

The other question was from someone wondering where all the parked cars along Heslington Road had gone to after double yellow lines were introduced there.

Well, as usual, the problem was just moved a little further up the road. They all seem to be parked along Deramore Drive in Badger Hill now, where on a bad day up to ten cars narrow down the road.

I hasten to add they are not parked illegally.

I hope this answers your queries.

I have a question for you: can anybody out there identify the species of birds descending in their hundreds onto the crowns of the American plane trees in Parliament Street in the evening?
