THE site of the old Reynard's garage in Piccadilly could yet be used to celebrate York's aviation history.
The Yorkshire Air Museum says it still believes the location would be ideal for an 'Airspeed attraction' dedicated to the 1930s and the aircraft factory that once stood there.
The council will not be drawn, saying only it is recruiting a project manager.
But we hope it will at least listen to the air museum's proposal.
We were appalled at the haste with which this admittedly-ugly 1920s art-deco building was demolished.
But it may not be too late to salvage something of the site's unique heritage.
