THE landlady of a flooded pub in York city-centre has hit out at aburglar who broke into her devastated premises.
The Watergate Inn in Walmgate (previously The Five Lions) was among the business hit by the floods between Christmas and New Year.
Landlady Maria Taylor said a thief had added to their woes.
She has posted a warning to the gate beside the pub, calling the offender "scum" - and saying they were caught on camera.
An intruder broke into the yard and rifled through items that had been put out there after the floods.
The Christmas tree is still up in the bar, where little work has been done since the floods. Maria said repairs to the building would be carried out by her landlord. However, she said she was responsible for contents, which were not covered by flooding insurance, and she would struggle to meet the bills.
