AN amateur dramatic group from York swapped its usual surroundings for the glamour of Italy.
The Dunnington Players ordinarily perform locally. But in 2014 they headed to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe - and now they have headed to Florence, to stage a one-off production of A Christmas Carol.
David Mazza from the group said the idea began in the pub, as a suggestion from one of their members who is originally from Florence.
The idea grew and last month around 15 of the group headed to the Tuscan city to perform in St Mark's Church in Via Maggio.
Mr Mazza said: "We had a very appreciative audience in Florence. We wanted the show to be heart-warming and fun and a little bit scary as well. It was a wide-ranging group that went, with some experienced members and some less-so. The youngest was only nine."
