A STUDENT from York has become an online hit, after taking University Challenge by storm.
Oscar Powell stole the show with his animated responses on Monday night's match between his team, Peterhouse in Cambridge, and St George's, London.
Mr Powell, who is studying geological sciences, attended All Saints RC School in York and then York College, before going to Cambridge.
Peterhouse won, to progress to the semi-finals.
On Tuesday morning, in response to a flood of tweets, he tweeted:
Re #universitychallenge - yes, I know I'm odd. No, I don't mind you pointing it out. I might actually find it quite amusing.
