YOU still have a week to catch a stunning exhibition of paintings at Scampston Walled Garden depicting the journey York artist Peter Miller took along the Wolds Way.

Peter’s collection of oil paintings, which will be on show until October 31, take visitors on an 80 mile journey through the Wolds' diverse landscape and breath-taking scenery. They start at the Humber Bridge, take in the length of the Wolds Way - including the dry chalk valleys of Thixendale, the prairie-like farms of the Wolds uplands, and a visit to Scampston itself - and finish at Filey.

Peter, who formerly owned Ken Spelman Booksellers in York, said: “I ran a bookshop for 40 years, but always wished to give more time to my passions for painting and walking. Retirement has given me the opportunity.

“My first exhibition in York in 2014 followed a 200 mile walk across England. I hope that this collection of work will be met with the same positive reception.”

The exhibition, in the restaurant of the Walled Garden, runs until Saturday, October 31, and is open from 10am until 5pm daily.
