HOTEL Chocolat are planning to open a new branch in York city centre.

A planning application has been submitted for 13 Stonegate, which was formerly the home of the Peter Rabbit and Friends shop for many years, but which has been vacant since they moved into a smaller unit across the street.

The new application lists both internal and external works, including alterations to the shopfront and complete redesign of the ground and first floor.

Hotel Chocolat already have a shop in Coney Street and a cafe and outlet at John Lewis at Monks Cross.

The company could not be reached for comment.

Hotel Chocolat is the creation of British entrepreneurs Angus Thirlwell and Peter Harris. The first Hotel Chocolat shop opened its doors in Watford in 2004. In the past 10 years, another 75 stores have opened in the UK.
