CITY OF YORK COUNCIL TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS
Notice is hereby given that City of York Council (the Council), in exercise of powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (the Act), made an Order on the 2nd day of October 2015 in respect of each of the locations numbered (1), (2) and (3). Additionally, the Council, not less than 7 days from the publication of this Notice, intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Act in respect of each of the locations numbered (4) and (5).
(1) STOCKTON LANE, YORK
This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Stockton Lane, York between its junction with Holtby Lane and a point 170 metres south west of the said junction (closed road) during a period commencing at 1830hrs on 5th day of October 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on 9th day of October 2015 (works period) or on a date when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put in to place, between 1830hrs and 2300hrs on Monday 5th October and Tuesday 6th October during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(2) HUNTINGTON ROAD, YORK This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Huntington Road, York between its junction with The Old Village and a point 150 metres south west of the said junction (closed road) during a period commencing at 0915hrs on 6th day of October 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on 13th day of October 2015 (works period) or on a date when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put in to place, between 0915hrs and 1600hrs on Monday 12th October during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(3) WHELDRAKE LANE, ELVINGTON This Order prohibits vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Wheldrake Lane, Elvington between its junction with Grange Farm Track and Greengales Lane (closed road) during the period commencing at 0001hrs on 5th day of October 2015 and ending at 2400hrs on the 16th day of October 2015 or on a date when carriagewayresurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the works can be carried out safely. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(4) PEASHOLME GREEN, YORK
This Order will prohibit vehicles from proceeding and waiting in Peasholme Green, York between its junctions with Foss Island Road and Hungate (closed road) during the period commencing at 0900hrs on the 18th day of October 2015 and ending at 1800hrs on the 25th day of October 2015 (works period) or at time when carriageway resurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will only be put in to place, between 0900hrs and 1800hrs on Sunday18th October and Sunday25th October during the works period. An alternative route for diverted traffic will be signed during the works period.
(5) WATER END, YORK
This Order will prohibit pedestrians and vehicles from proceeding in (i) the footwayon the north west side of Water End, York between its junction with Clifton and the south western property boundary of No. 2 Water End, York (closed footpath) and (ii) the inner lane of the north east bound traffic lane of Water End between the south western property boundary of No. 17 Clifton Green and its junction with Clifton (closed traffic lane) during the period commencing at 0930hrs on the 12th day of October 2015 and ending at 1600hrs on the 30th dayof October 2015 or on a date when footwayresurfacing works being undertaken thereon have been completed whichever is the earlier. This is to ensure that the said works can be carried out safely. It is envisaged that the closure will onlybe put in to place Mondayto Friday, between 0930hrs and 1600hrs during the works period. An alternative route for diverted pedestrians and vehicles will be signed.
The above temporary Orders will not prohibit works or emergency access nor will they prohibit access to premises provided that access is not prevented by on-going works or safety concerns. Traffic signs/barriers will indicate the extent of the prohibitions/ restrictions.
