A REWARD is being offered to the person who helps identify the Pocklington tyre slasher, who last week targeted 140 cars in the town.

The £250 reward is being offered by Pocklington Town Council.

Humberside Police have also now released this video of a man they want to speak to about the attacks:

A spokesperson from the council said: "Pocklington Town Council are most disturbed to hear about the recent spate of damage to car tyres throughout the town and fear a serious accident will result if the attacks continue.

"Damage so far must amount to approaching £20,000 not counting the inconvenience and danger these offences have caused.

"Local people are urged to check their tyres before each journey and if in any doubt get one of the local garages to give them a check.

"In liaison with the Pocklington and Market Weighton Crime Prevention Panel the council have decided to offer a reward of £250 to the person who provides the police with information leading to the identification of the offender. Please report each case to the local police as it helps them to fit together a pattern."

Yesterday Humberside Police released a description of someone they are looking for in connection with the incident. The description was of an adult man, slim to medium build, with short, dark hair which is balding on top. He may drive a white van.

The offences occurred all over the town last week, overnight on Wednesday 2, and again on Thursday 3.

Most reports are from 8pm to 8am but enquiries have revealed a more specific time of 1am to 2.30am in some cases.

Anyone with information should call log 196 of September 3 2015 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
