MEMBERS of the Jorvik York Archaeological Trust, the Bishophill History Group and the church of St Mary Bishophill Junior held a day of local history this weekend.
The event, on Saturday, saw visitors learn about Anglian and Roman archaeological finds from the Bishophill area which are now housed in the Yorkshire Museum, as part of a curator's clinic.
There were also two walking tours of Bishophill, tours of the church, and displays looking at how the area developed from York's Roman settlement, through the Middle Ages and up to modern times, before a choral Vespers was performed by the Rudgate Singers.
