THERE are still places left for local schoolgirls wanting to attend an action day being staged by Network Rail at its state-of-the-art operations and training centre in York this Friday.
The company is opening the doors of the centre in York as part of a drive to encourage more female engineers.
Those attending on the day will get the chance to try their hand at mastering the art of signalling, putting their practical thinking to the test and seeing how they overcome obstacles such as broken down trains or fallen trees on the line in Network Rail’s signal simulator.
To apply for a young girl to go on the action day, or for more information, email NetworkRail@fourcommunications.com as soon as possible.
