NURSERY workers and their pupils in Acomb are celebrating their outstanding grade from Ofsted.
Cheeky Monkeys Playgroup, at Westfield Primary on Askham Lane, was recently awarded the highest possible grade by education inspectors.
Manager Tracey White said: "We are over the moon with the outstanding grade. It takes a lot of hard work from the staff and the committee to run a playgroup, but to receive outstanding makes it all worthwhile.
"Ofsted commented on the exceptional teaching methods shown by all the members of staff. The inspectors also commented on the exceptional outdoor provision, which allows the children to explore and learn."
