A DRAMATIC night on York's rivers saw a vulnerable women stopped from entering the River Foss.
York Rescue Boat was called into action three times on Saturday night when they received reports of people close to the water's edge.
A group of men were seen trying to get into the water near Scarborough Bridge at 9.15pm and at 10.30pm another two men were spotted taking their clothes off next to the river at Skeldergate Bridge.
Both groups fled the scene before the voluntary rescue organisation arrived at the scene.
However, twenty minutes after returning from Skeldergate Bridge they launched to reports of a vulnerable women near the water near Foss Basin.
The crew found her and she was handed over to North Yorkshire Police.
York Rescue Boat was set up in 2014 by Dave Benson but did not start patrolling the water until May.
Since then they have provided support to the emergency services and protected vulnerable people.
Last Friday, they stopped a drunk man in his early twenties from going down a mooring ladder that leads into the water after they saw him climb over a safety fence.
