A VIDEO of a street jiving couple dancing in the York sunshine has boomed online.
The pair were caught on camera dancing to a group of buskers playing "Rock Around the Clock" on Coney Street, and the video has been attracted tens of thousands of views online.
Since it was posted on Facebook a week ago, almost 50,000 people have seen the clip and hundreds and liked and commented on it.
To Peter Stanhope, seeing the dancers brought back memories of a York institution.
He said: "The way they are dancing, it looks like they went to a school of dance - which was above where Lakeland is on High Ousegate now. That's where we all went and met our spouses 50 years ago.
"I think they are York people - they don't look like tourist as they haven't left bags around. They might be someone's grandma and grandpa."
"It looks like they were just out enjoying the sunshine and thought: 'They are playing Rock Around The Clock so let's rock!'"
