A NORTH Yorkshire music festival has released details of special ales that will be brewed to coincide with the event.
The sixth Willowman Music Festival at Knayton near Thirsk will take place from June 18 to June 21 with Echo and the Bunnymen as the headline act.
But for festival director Steve Williams, the beer tent is just as important as the stage.
He said: “To me great beer and great music go hand in hand.
For the last three years, Northallerton-based Walls Brewing Company has provided the mainstay of the festival’s beer tent, Willow Wobbly, as well as others and has sourced beers from niche breweries such as Revolution of Castleford.
Revolution will produce a special London Porter called Clash with a gravity of 4.5. Made with five different malts the dark ale is hopped with US hops.
The West Yorkshire brewery is reviving its Unknown Pleasures ale in honour of Peter Hook and the Light, who will be on stage at the festival, performing songs from the Joy Division debut album of the same name.
