PREPARATIONS are under way for the Lord Mayor of York’s Charity Golf Day.
Pike Hills Golf Club is due to host more than 200 golfers on Friday, April 24, at an event expected to raise £4,000 for the Lord Mayor’s charities.
This year, the charities are York Against Cancer and the York Teaching Hospital Charity.
Now in its eighth year, the golf competition is one of the most popular events in the Lord Mayor Cllr Ian Gillies’ calendar, and attracts golfers from across the region.
The event has been sponsored by HA Fox Jaguar, with the opportunity for players to win an F-Type Jaguar to drive for the weekend.
Anne Platt, of the civic office, said: “It’s always a great day and we are very grateful to Pike Hills for continuing to offer their support every year.”
Each of the 18 holes has been sponsored by a different business in the city.
