A SELBY man has admitted threatening to kill police officers and wasting police time.
Craig Charles Woodhall, 23, appeared before magistrates in York on Monday after officers were called to a railway bridge and the Selby Swing Bridge early on Saturday.
North Yorkshire Police said they were called at 3.52am after Woodhall threatened to self harm, and to kill officers or members of the public who approached him.
Trained negotiators were sent and ambulance and fire crews were on standby while officers searched for Woodhall, who was found in Barlow at 7.15am.
The spokesman said Woodhall, of Main Street, Hillam, was safe but required medical treatment at York Hospital before he was taken into custody.
He was charged with the two offences on Sunday, and pleaded guilty before magistrates on Monday.
He is due before the court again on Friday for sentencing
