I RESPOND to a letter about the proposed reopening of Haxby station (Letters, March 31).
Train stations don’t necessarily need car parks. The letter writer points out that York has some excellent public transport links, but our roads are at capacity, and failure to invest in our railways will leave them in the same place.
The Government has already invested heavily in the north’s transport infrastructure, and more would be most welcome.
Dan Hill, Fourth Avenue, York.
