WHAT would Richard III have done at Easter?

The Yorkshire Museum, in Museum Gardens, York, is holding demonstrations and activities that would have taken place during the reign of Richard III, including a weekend of dancing, tournament training and sword fighting.

Emma Williams, assistant curator of archaeology, said: “With the Richard III celebrations coming up in York we thought it would be interesting to look at Easter traditions during his reign.

“We have a medieval egg hunt, family craft activities and a weekend of medieval celebrations that everyone can enjoy such as dancing and we are really looking forward to the tournament training.”

An egg hunt will be held every day from 10am to 5pm until April 12 and tournament training and sword fighting will run from 11am to 4pm from Friday to Monday.
