ROXETTE are on a mega tour of some of the greatest rock venues in the world.

Only last night, Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle played the Sydney Opera House.

Interestingly, the only UK date will be at the O2, London on July 13.

That’s because this band were seen here as little more than a Euro facsimile of The Eurythmics. Sure, they scored a few hits in Britain, but internationally they were off the Richter scale.

Even insular America responded to Roxette, awarding them three number one singles, something our best bands of the time could only dream of.

To mark three decades since Fredriksson and Gessel formed their band, named after an obscure Dr Feelgood track, Parlophone have released a comprehensive double CD containing 30 tracks featuring all their greatest hits.

Included are The Look, Dressed For Success, Joyride and their contribution to the Pretty Woman soundtrack, It Must Have Been Love.
