TOURISTS and staff were evacuated from York Minster this afternoon.
Firefighters attended the scene at 12.55 when the fire alarm sounded in the historic cathedral.
However, crews reported it was a false alarm and there was no damage to the building.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service are currently unable to reveal what caused the warning to sound.
