MORE than 160 teachers and staff from schools across the North of England gathered at St Peter's prep school, Clifton School and Nursery for the second annual Northern Learning Conference.

The event in York covered topics ranging from natural learning styles for boys to using iPads to enhance literacy, and welcomed top motivational speaking Shonette Bason-Wood as the keynote speaker.

Clifton head teacher Phil Hardy, who organised the conference, said it was a crucial opportunity for teachers and schools to talk, share ideas, and learn from each other.

He added: "Collaboration between schools is vital if we are to continue to explore new ways of teaching and learning to inspire our pupils. I am delighted that we are able to support that by providing this platform for sharing ideas and for discussion between colleagues.

"I’m extremely grateful to all those schools attending – the more teachers that attend, the greater the flow of ideas and the more all our pupils will benefit.”
